In reply to Douglas Cantrell. St. Croix rods are great, just beware the guides on Mojo Bass rods will fail before the Fuji guides on Avid and Victory rods.

The ceramic rings in G. Loomis crankbait rods tend to come out after very little use. I own eight of the rods and more than half have had this issue. Otherwise, they are good rods. I also own and use several St. Croix rods. Never had an issue with St. Croix rods.

In reply to Dave. You don't need them all, just 2 or 3 that work for how you fish. I use 8, 12, and 15lb fluoro for 80% of my fishing. 8lb leaders to braid on spinning reels, 12 on crankbaits, 15 on just about everything else.

Does any manufacturer offer a spinning rod in medium-heavy, moderate to moderate-fast tip for 1/4 to 3/4 oz. crankbaits?

We’ve been fishing lakers through the ice in SW Ontario for many years and a red tipped glow tube has out performed (for us) all of the other lures combined – it’s deserving of first on your list for sure. We’ve also had good luck with the Vibrato series jigs and Do-jigger spoons.
